Christoffer DE GRAAL. B. Bus Perf.
An Improvisational Multi-Instrumentalist Singer and Composer
These days I am particularly interested in creating music that has the power to stir people’s hearts and minds and which allows them to connect more deeply with themselves, others and the world around them.
Through my work I have had the chance to combine what I love to do with the skills of coaching and facilitating others. I am an improvisational musician, singer and composer, and over the last decade or so I have seen and experienced the transformational power that music, sound and movement can have when used with individuals and groups in a range of forums.
I started in music myself with the traditions of church choral and classical music which has turned out to be good grounding for later playing in orchestras (for Opera, Ballet and Chamber Music), and with a string quartet and playing for shows including West Side Story in Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. Since those early days I have gone on to develop this lifelong passion for improvisational music and have played with some wonderful musicians such as Jim McCarty (Yardbirds), and John Richardson (Rubbetts). At the turn of the Millennium (2000), I received a Churchill Fellowship and travelled around the world for a couple of months, exploring the transformational power and healing of sound and music.
All of these experience have led to me wanting to share the power of improvisational sound and movement with those in: Community, Education and Business settings. Take a look at the rest of the website to find out more.
